Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state that everyone enters many times during the day. Often we enter a trance state while driving on the interstate, and we can not remember how we arrived there. The conscious mind begins to relax and the subconscious mind becomes more active. 

When the individual is in a trance state, the hypnotist is able to establish direct contact with the area of the subconscious mind where the client desires a change, incorporating new behavior, relaxation and harmony. While in a state of hypnosis, you are aware of your surroundings but feel so relaxed that normal distractions appear to fade away. You are ALWAYS in control and accept only the suggestions that are of benefit to you. You do however, retain recollection of what you do and say while in a trance.

What is Hypnosis? 

Hypnosis is a natural process of deep relaxation & fixation of attention. During hypnosis, the body and conscious mind are in a relaxed, natural state, while the subconscious mind remains awake and receptive to suggestion. Hypnosis is both an education and communication process to a person's mind that allows their conscious and subconscious minds to believe the same message.

Although approved by the American Medical Association in 1958 and the British Medical Association 3 years earlier, Hypnosis actually traces its origin back some 5,000 years to the healing temples of ancient Egypt. It is only with the proliferation of the self-help therapies of the past several decades that it has gained such wide spread popularity and use. It is now clearly accepted as the most powerful and permanent method of behavior and habit control known to man.

As popular and public as Hypnosis is however, there are still some people who do not understand it and thus are wary of it. They think of it as entertainment, magic or some mystical from of mind control. In reality, it is none of these things. A simple definition of Hypnosis is that it is a pleasant state of mental and physical relaxation characterized by increased alertness, enhanced awareness, heightened suggestibility and pin-point concentration. It enables us to capture, harness and utilize the unlimited potential of the subconscious mind. Indeed, it is the ultimate means of heightening/focusing motivation by programming the subconscious mind to work in active cooperation with our conscious desires.
